Freeman Coliseum is Hiring:

Building and Grounds Maintenance SUMMARY

Keeps buildings clean, safe and orderly condition for the Freeman Coliseum, grounds, and facilitates.



Empties trash and garbage containers.

Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing and other related maintenance activities.

Cleans debris from sidewalk.

Mows law and trims shrubbery.

Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilation equipment.

Replaces air conditioner filters.

Will operate forklift.

Other duties as assigned.



High school diploma or GED required.  Formal OJT or apprentice program preferred.  One year experience required in building and grounds maintenance, with two years experience preferred.  Knowledge in stage building, assembling risers, and general building standards.



Must obtain forklift certification and First aid training.



Work Leader – Supervision is usually partial or part-time and restricted to assigning work and supervising the efforts of a small subordinate group of employees, typically up to five (5).  Much of the time is spent performing work of the type supervised.



Non‑office environment, which is disagreeable due to exposure to noise, dust, cold, heat, fumes and other elements.

May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during events.

Working conditions are primarily indoors with occasional outdoor exposure

Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as damp/wet surfaces, extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.

Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, occasionally moves objects weighing up to 100 pounds

Will frequently communicate with co-workers; must be able to exchange accurate information

Frequently moves about buildings

Constantly positions self to perform essential functions

Constantly operates tools and equipment
